Supporter Hails PPC Picnic at Glen Farm a Success
Portsmouth Pride Coalition picnic - fun for all ages
Along with about 150 other Portsmouth supporters, I took part in the first picnic sponsored by the newly-formed Portsmouth Pride Coalition at Glen Farm Thursday evening.
This group was created by some Portsmouth residents who were tired of all the negative press and media coverage of our town and wanted show that many of us are proud of our community. I'd like to consider myself a member of this group and it was apparent that many other Portsmouth residents feel the same way.
The picnic was a fun event for families, with a dunk tank and other games for the kids and "hot off the grill" burgers and hot dogs for everyone. They even had free T-shirts and I'm sure that you will start to see these worn around town by those who attended. I hope that this group and its mission - taking pride in Portsmouth - catches on. Count me as a supporter.
