ReplySpeaking as someone who was once involved in a terrible two-car accident 30 years ago at right about this time, I might have some idea about what Tyler and his family and friends are going through. We have every reason to believe that Tyler will make a full recovery in due time and we should send all of our thoughts and prayers to our esteemed colleague and his family as much we can.

ReplyBrittany actually gave me a haircut once at Hair Excitement at the Fox Run Mall a few years ago. She was exactly like people described her at the vigil on Sunday night: happy, outgoing, and friendly. She even talked me into getting some of those extra hair care products.

ReplyHow many times have we reported stories where a suicidal person decides to take the life of an innocent person they happen to be with? If this guy wanted to take his own life after killing the Greenland Police Chief and wounding four officers that's one thing, but why murder his ex-girlfriend?

Hi Bruce:
That is a good point, but I when we list the best stories of 2012, they are the most powerful, memorable stories that were among the biggest news that happened this year. Without a doubt, the tragic shooting death of Chief Maloney was the biggest story of the year.
