ReplyMr. Walsh
My favorite is disAstros, the name given to the ill-fated 2011 Astros who posted 106 losses. I'm reading Joyce's "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" now so I'll keep looking for more. -

My buddy, Jack Mahoney, and I split catching duties that season and we agreed that Hop didn't throw one ball that championship game. Everything was a strike. It was incredible. Thank you for reading.

Thanks for reading, Mr. Testa. I still think you are an amazing science teacher and a great Patch blogger but I am a little devastated to hear you switched loyalties. I do think Brady is amazing, though! No doubt. Thanks for giving a shout out to Joe Cribbs.

Thank you for reading. Growing up with Giants tix would be my idea of an idyllic childhood. You have to root for the Giants for your Dad.

ReplyI was taught to use the Oxford comma at Hanaford School and was never given permission to drop it. I didn't even know it was an option. Thanks for this post and I am glad you made a reference to James Joyce. Now I finally figured out which author's photo you use for your profile picture. It made me look up Joyce and I found this quote of his, "Writing in English is the most ingenious torture ever devised for sins committed in previous lives."

Amazing. Thanks for the information. I would have given anything to grow up across from the Maras. I trust that makes you a fellow Giants fan.

Mr. Walsh,
As a baseball player and an Armenian, I'm surrounded by superstitious people. Love this post and the one on the Wiffle ball, too.
