Portsmouth Native Could Appear at Academy Awards Sunday

A 1984 Portsmouth High School graduate and Emmy winner has been nominated for her work on the film "Moneyball."

If you watch the Academy Awards this Sunday, don't forget to keep an eye out for a Portsmouth High School graduate.  Deb Adair, a Portsmouth native, is nominated for an Oscar in the category of "Sound Mixing" for her work in the 2011 film "Moneyball," starring Brad Pitt and directed by Bennett Miller.  Other films nominated in the same category are "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Hugo," "Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon" and  "War Horse."  This is not the first Hollywood nomination for the 45-year-old re-recording mixer for Sony Pictures.  Adair, also a graduate of Syracuse University, won an Emmy in both 1995 and 1996 for her work on Disney's "Aladdin" and an Emmy in 1997 for her work on Disney's "The Lion King." Portsmouth High Alum Nabs Oscar Nomination for 'Moneyball'

A 1984 Portsmouth High School graduate and Emmy winner was nominated this week for her work on the film "Moneyball."
