Portsmouth Man Arrested After Apparent Road Rage Incident

Paul Lacazette, 63, of Portsmouth, was arrested Wednesday and charged with simple assault in connection with a road rage incident on East Main Road.

A Portsmouth man allegedly drove his Chevy S-10 pickup truck into another vehicle while driving Monday during an apparent "road rage" incident on East Main Road. The incident began around 4 p.m. just after Stub Toe Lane. Police say a 1999 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 21-year-old female from Fall River, MA, was traveling north on East Main Road. The Corolla changed travel lanes from the right into the left lane, apparently upsetting the driver behind her.  The operator of the Chevy pickup truck, 63-year-old Paul Lacazette of 64 Founders Ave., Portsmouth, allegedly began to use "hand gestures," which were visible in the victim's rearview mirror. Police Log: Portsmouth Resident Arrested After Allegedly Striking Man in Face with Fists

Brent Bowen, 40, of Portsmouth, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with domestic, simple assault.

A Portsmouth resident was arrested on this week after allegedly striking a 40-year-old man in the face with his fists. Brent Bowen, 40, of 71 Ferreira Terrace, Portsmouth, turned himself in at the Portsmouth Police Department on Wednesday, Feb. 9., at 1:45 p.m. Bowen was wanted for questioning in connection with an incident that occurred earlier that day at a residence on West Main Road. A 40-year-old man had apparently become involved in an argument with the suspect around 11:30 a.m. During the argument, Bowen allegedly struck the man in the face with his fists, causing bruising and scratching around the victim's eye, police said. Bowen was arrested at the station and charged with domestic, simple assault.

Police Log: Little Compton Man Arrested for Alleged Simple Assault

Justin Boiani, 29, of Little Compton, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 7, and charged with domestic, simple assault, and domestic, vandalism.

Justin Boiani, 29, of Little Compton was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 7, at approximately 5:15 p.m. after turning himself in at the Portsmouth Police Department. Boiani was wanted on an affidavit arrest warrant for an incident that occurred on Thanksgiving in Portsmouth, police said. Police say Boiani and a 47-year-old Middletown man became involved in a verbal argument outside a Water Street residence. During the argument, Boiani allegedly reached through the car window and grabbed the victim by his jacket, thereby ripping the jacket. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Boiani, who turned himself in on Tuesday. Boiani was charged with domestic, simple assault, and domestic, vandalism.

Police Log: Portsmouth Man Arrested for Allegedly Punching, Choking Female

Wayne Brown, 49, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 1, and charged with domestic, simple assault.

Wayne Brown, 49, of Scottie Drive, was arrested by police on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Murray Judicial Complex in Newport. Brown was charged with domestic, simple assault, following a report received by Portsmouth police. According to police, a 21-year-old Portsmouth female told officers that Brown had punched her in the face and choked her. Officers said they observed visible bruising on the victim's neck. Police obtained an affidavit arrest warrant for Brown, who was arrested at the court house Monday. Brown was in court for a separate matter, police said.

District Court: Middletown Man Ordered to Pay Court Costs

A Middletown man is ordered to pay $93.50 in court costs.

Ronald M. McLeod, 36, of 61 Rogers Lane, Middletown, was ordered to pay court costs Thursday in Second District Court, Newport. McLeod was arrested previously by Newport police on the charge of simple assault. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 20 hours community service. McLeod was also ordered Thursday to pay $93.50 in court fees before Dec. 7 or face additional fees or possible jail time.

Police Log: Tiverton Man Arrested for Alleged Domestic Assault

A Tiverton man was arrested Monday evening and charged with domestic, simple assault.

Kyle Scanlon, 27, of Tiverton, was arrested Monday evening and charged with domestic, simple assault. Police responded Monday at approximately 4:45 p.m. to a residence on Cathy Circle to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. A 27-year-old female Portsmouth resident told officers that the suspect had pushed and shoved her against a wall, police said. The victim also told officers that Scanlon pushed a door against her, causing her to fall. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, police said. The suspect was later arrested that evening in Tiverton and turned over to the custody of Portsmouth police. Scanlon was arraigned Tuesday morning.
