Man Calls Police After Being Kicked Out of Bar by Officer: A Portsmouth man was arrested last Saturday the Atlantic Beach Club after he allegedly got into a scuffle with other barflies and was subsequently carried out of the establishment by a police officer. But apparently the encounter didn't deter the man from attempting to put the situation right. When officers arrived in response to a 911 call, police said the man ran toward the officer, demanded he do his job and escort him back into the bar and arrest the people who threw him out. The following is from a press release from the Portsmouth Water and Fire District. Portsmouth Water and Fire District customers have been receiving a mail solicitation from a company called HomeServe with a Providence post office box return address. The company is offering insurance to cover the cost to repair the customer’s water service line should it fail. HomeServe is not affiliated with the Portsmouth Water and Fire District, nor has the company contacted Portsmouth Water about its solicitation. It appears that HomeServe is a foreign corporation organized under the laws of Delaware with a principle office in Stamford, CT. Portsmouth man arrested as fugitive from justice A Portsmouth man was arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking charges issued from an Ohio sheriff's department. Kevin Schiavone, 39, of 86 Cedar Ave., Portsmouth, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Schiavone was wanted as a fugitive from justice. He was wanted on drug possession and trafficking charges out of the Cuyahoga Sheriff's Department. Schiavone was arrested at his home and later transported to district court for arraignment.
