VIDEO: Patriots, Giants' Rivalry Touches Down at Portsmouth Market

Imagine being a Giants' fan and being surrounded by Patriots' fans at work? It's a reality for one local manager.

Imagine being the only New York Giants' fan in your workplace during the week before the Super Bowl? For Clements' Market store manager David Perry, this has become reality.  Perry, one of only a few Giants' fans at Clements' Market, has heard a few jokes and comments against his favorite team, but that hasn't stopped him from keeping his Giants' helmet in his office this week leading up to the big game.  We spoke with Perry this week about his team and why they have a shot at a Super Bowl win. A fellow co-worker might have played a little trick during the filming, which can be seen in the video above. Perry had no idea what was behind him during filming.  The Patriots will take on the New York Giants at Super Bowl XLVI this Sunday, Feb. 5…

Patriots Hold On To Nip Mount Hope, 21-18, in Football Opener

The Portsmouth High football team needed a late interception by "Player of the Game" Matt Greenman and two touchdown passes from quarterback Bobby Chavous to fend off the Huskies in a non-league outing.

What was projected to be a mismatch turned out to be a seat-squirmer. The Division 1 Portsmouth High football team needed a pass interception by junior Matt Greenman with 10 seconds to play to preserve a hard-fought 21-18 victory over visiting Division 2-B Mount Hope High of Bristol Friday night at Kennedy Memorial Field in the non-league season opener for both clubs. Greenman also made 13 tackles to earn “Player of the Game” honors and quarterback Bobby Chavous tossed two touchdown passes as the Patriots built a 15-point lead midway through the third quarter before being forced to hold on for dear life in the final period. After narrowing the gap to three points with 3:42 to play, the Huskies’ defense stopped Portsmouth on its next series…
