Former Rep. Patrick Kennedy Sells Portsmouth House

The former Congressman's nearly $1.3 million property has sold for less than its value, according to town records.

New residents will soon live in a house once belonging to a Kennedy.  Former Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy has sold his 2001-built Portsmouth house, according to town records.  The property sold on Thursday for $1,150,000 to James M. and Sheila M. Powell of Middletown.  Kennedy, who married a New Jersey school teacher in 2011, put the two-story house at 210 Farmlands Drive on the market in January.  The Portsmouth home was assessed at a value of $598,400 in 2011, according to its Vision Appraisal listing. The total property, including the house and land, was valued at $1,292,400 in January.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to Visit Portsmouth Tonight

Former Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are expected to be just a few of the guests at fundraiser being held today.

U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-California) is expected to visit Portsmouth tonight to attend a fundraiser at the private Carnegie Abbey Club.  The fundraiser will be held to raise money for the House Democrats' campaign, reports The Providence Journal.  Donations at the fundraiser could range from $1,000 per person to more than $30,000 per couple, according to The Journal.  Guests for tonight's fundraiser also include former Rep. Patrick Kennedy, a Portsmouth resident who is currently in the process of selling his house, and Rhode Island Reps. James R. Langevin and David N. Cicilline.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to Attend Portsmouth Fundraiser

Former Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi are expected to be just a few of the guests at fundraiser for House Democrats later this month.

Carnegie Abbey will host a fundraiser on March 18 with several, well-known politicians on the guest list.  The fundraiser will be held to raise money for the House Democrats' campaign, reports The Providence Journal.  Among the guests include U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-California), former Rep. Patrick Kennedy, a Portsmouth resident who is currently in the process of selling his house, and Rhode Island Reps. James R. Langevin and David N. Cicilline, according to The Journal article.

The former Congressman is planning to sell his nearly $1.3 million property in town.

Residents will soon have the chance to live in a house once belonging to a Kennedy.  Former Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy plans to put his 2001-built Portsmouth house on the market and move to Providence, reports The Providence Journal.  Kennedy, who married a New Jersey school teacher in 2011 and is awaiting the birth of their first child, is selling the two-story house located at 210 Farmlands Drive.  The Portsmouth home was assessed at a value of $598,400 in 2011, according to its Vision Appraisal listing. The total property, including the house and land, is valued at $1,292,400.

Projo.com reports that former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy, a Portsmouth resident, will no longer pen an autobiography.

Projo.com reports that Portsmouth resident and former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy will no longer pen a memoir entitled "Coming Clean." The book, scheduled for release in November, was to be written with political reporter Mary Ann Akers and focus on both the Kennedy family and the former representative's addiction.  Kennedy says he is too busy planning his marriage to a New Jersey schoolteacher and other projects, according to the Projo.com article. Projo.com reports that former Congressman Patrick Kennedy, who owns a home in Portsmouth, is engaged to a New Jersey teacher. Kennedy apparently popped the question to Amy Petitgout this past weekend in Rhode Island. Kennedy, 43, and Petitgout, who teaches history at the Northfield Community School, will be married "sometime this summer" in Hyannisport, MA, according to Projo.com. Congressional candidate David Segal stopped by Portsmouth Wednesday to discuss his "Green New Deal." The first stop was at the Wind Turbine Generator outside Portsmouth High School, where Segal spoke with a handful of reporters about jobs and future "green" opportunities. "Investing $100 billion in the greening of our economy over the next two years would create an estimated two million jobs nationwide," Segal said.
