Cannes Film Festival to Open With 'Moonrise Kingdom'
Wes Anderson's film to present a "visually stunning Rhode Island postcard to a global audience," says the executive director of the Rhode Island Film & TV Office.
The Wes Anderson-directed film "Moonrise Kingdom" is slated to open the prestigious Cannes Film Festival on May 16, according to a recent announcement by the Rhode Island Film & TV Office. The film is shot entirely in Rhode Island and the official trailer was released in January. “What an honor for Wes Anderson, his stellar cast and crew, and Focus Features to open the most influential film festival in the world," said Steven Feinberg, executive director of the Rhode Island Film & TV Office, in a press release.
