One rascally rabbit, who hopped away from her home Easter weekend, was returned to a very happy and thankful Portsmouth family on Monday. Niblet, a full-grown domestic rabbit, escaped on the eve of Easter from her shed on Ferreira Terrace. She was found Saturday around 11 p.m. on the corner of Dexter Street and Jesse Drive. Joe Oyer saw the rabbit on the side of the road. "He said that he pulled over and saw it sitting there. When he got out of the car, it approached him," said Joe's girlfriend, Christine Levesque. Joe brought the rabbit to Christine's house, where she had food and a cage she used for her pet guinea pig. Being Easter weekend, the two didn't know who to call. A live bunny was found this past Easter weekend in Portsmouth.
Did a rascally rabbit hop away from your yard this Easter weekend? One Portsmouth resident found this live bunny (pictured above) on Saturday at 11 p.m. The full-grown, domestic rabbit was found at the corner of Dexter Street and Jesse Drive. Easter celebrations bring out fun this week with hunts and sightings of the Easter Bunny.
Looking to get out and see the Easter Bunny this weekend with the kids? Here's a sneak peak at where to find the giant bunny (and chocolate eggs). Portsmouth A free Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Howard W. Hathaway Elementary School. This event was postponed from last week. Friends of the Brown House will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday at Glen Farm. The main hunt will begin at 1 p.m. A special hunt, open to toddlers, will be held at 1:15. The Easter Bunny will also visit with kids! Several final events are scheduled around Aquidneck Island this week, including a chance for photos with live bunnies. Here's a look at this upcoming deadline. Saturday, April 7 Have a private sitting with photographer Jennifer Carter and preserve your little one's Easter memories. The library will have live rabbits, so have your child dressed in their Easter finest! For $79 (plus tax) you will receive one 8x10, two 5x7, and eight wallet prints. Plus, you can order additional prints, notecards and keepsakes. Proceeds will benefit the Portsmouth Free Public Library. Space is limited; call 837-0554 to reserve your place.
