Cox Communication customers in Midwest, East Coast regions were impacted by outage.

Cox Communications might have e-mailed customers, stymied since Friday, about their service coming back this morning, but messages sent to their accounts since then will be showing up sporadically this week. This morning, Cox Communications' website reports that as of 6:30 a.m., email service had been restored to their customers. Email that was sent to Cox customers' e-mail accounts since Friday will arrive sporadically over the next few days, the company reports, and may not be delivered in the order they were sent. "Now that service is restored we are moving forward with replacing email storage platform equipment and implementing measures to prevent a reoccurrence of these issues," the company wrote. Cox Communications customers are experiencing phone outages Tuesday across the state. According to Dana Nolfe of Cox, many Cox Business VoiceManager customers across Rhode Island are without phone service. Cox crews are working to restore service. Cox Communications customers could be entitled to a refund from outages caused by Irene.
Did you lose internet service and cable during tropical storm Irene? Did your phone lines cut out during the storm? If you are a Cox Communications customer, you may be entitled to a refund for service outages from the storm. According to Amy Quinn of Cox Communications, the company will supply reimbursements for customers whose internet, cable and/or phones were down as a result of tropical storm Irene. "We will credit their account based on the number of days they were out," she said. Everyone can do their own thing, & that's fine by me, but for me I would never have my phone service done like that. As soon as there are problems within the cable system from a power failure, etc, not only do you lose your TV but as we see here your telephone service as well. Maybe a businees can handle that but at your home in a emergency you could be screwed.   more ›
