It's a free country, you idiots. Don't like the club? Want "affordable housing" for others? Get up off your asses and make it happen, like these guys are doing. Sitting back whining about life not being fair is what got you where you are. Standing up and getting to work is what got the club members their yachts. #work   more ›

The Carnegie Tower Development Company sold five of its tower units to a Rhode Island LLC earlier this week.

Inc. sold five condominiums or units to Tower Drive Development LLC, a Rhode Island limited liability company, on March 22.   The Tower Drive Development company is listed with the Secretary of State's Office, with a principal office address of 275 7th Ave., 14th floor, New York, New York. Council Rejects Plan to Construct Railroad Crossings

The Portsmouth Town Council voted Monday to reject a revised plan to construct railroad crossings at the future Newport Beach Club.

After alluding to millions of dollars in unpaid taxes, members of the Portsmouth Town Council rejected a revised plan Monday to construct railroad crossings at the future Newport Beach Club.  The vote to reject was 3 to 3 with Councilors Judi Staven, Liz Pedro and Paul Kesson against the plan.  "This (plan) is from the large taxpayer that's not paying taxes," Pedro said.  Pedro and other members alluded to, but did not name the Carnegie Tower Development Co. Inc. of King of Prussia, PA, which owes the town more than $1.9 million in unpaid property taxes. Finance Director David Faucher said he's been in touch with the company and expects payment soon. If not paid, the properties will go to a tax sale on June 19.  However, the railroad plan …

Tax Delinquent Restricts Parking Near Public Boat Ramp

Town officials are looking into whether Carnegie Abbey's parking signs violate a previous agreement.

Members of the Portsmouth Town Council are looking into parking restriction signs recently posted at the end of Willow Lane near the public boat ramp.  About five to six signs are posted in a parking lot not far from the public boat ramp at the end of Willow Lane. Two of the signs can be seen in the photo above.  The signs state the area is "private property" and parking is allowed for "members only."  Councilor Judi Staven previously said a prior agreement with Carnegie Abbey called for public parking at this location. One small sign, located at the entrance to Elliot Street, points to "additional boat ramp parking." The street leads to an unpaved, dirt lot.  The Carnegie Tower Development Co. Inc. of King of Prussia, PA, has been …

Willow lane is an industrial road; on the section east of the railroad tracks measure across from pole to pole and you will find about 60 feet of public property. Now look west across the tracks and you will clearly see the road has been narrowed. If you can not see this I will meet you down there with a tape measure.   more ›

Portsmouth's Top Tax Delinquents of 2011

Who owes the most in property tax dollars to the town?

One Pennsylvania-based company owes the town of Portsmouth more than $1.9 million in property taxes and some town leaders are questioning when the bill will be paid.  As of Wednesday, Carnegie Tower Development Co. Inc. of King of Prussia, PA, owes the town of Portsmouth a total of $1,923,133.90 in late property taxes. The amount owed includes taxes for several property holdings, as well as interest.  Phone calls and messages left with Carnegie Tower Development Co. have not been returned to date.  Portsmouth Town Finance Director David Faucher previously said he expects a payment to be made, but does not know when.  At least two other companies tied to Carnegie Abbey are behind in payments as well. Here's a complete list of the top five …
