Rhode Island Marine Trades Association and New England Boatworks showed their support of bringing the America's Cup race to Newport with a rally in Portsmouth Tuesday morning. The rally, held at New England Boatworks, was to support the investment the event would have in the state's economy and the improvements that would be made to Fort Adams State Park. "This is not a tourism event, it's a marine trade association event," said Keith Stokes, Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation executive director and chairman of Rhode Island's America's Cup Planning Committee.
