The following is a press release: When a group of seventh-graders at Wilbur-McMahon School in Little Compton looked for unique ways to raise money for the American Cancer Society, the students asked their physical education teacher Jason Ford of Portsmouth if he’d help them out. Their idea? Duct tape their teacher to the wall! Once Ford agreed, the seventh-graders took their idea, plastered the school with posters and asked fellow students, teachers and staff to donate $1 to wear their favorite sports gear on Friday, May 11, or donate $2 for a strip of duct tape to adhere the teacher to the wall. The donations came in all week. And on Friday, students, teachers and staff gathered in the gymnasium to take part in duct-taping Ford to the …

The Glen Goes to the Dogs

Aquidneck Island's Relay for Life Team holds its very first Bark for Life event this Sunday at Glen Farm.

Glen Farm went to the dogs on Sunday, literally. Aquidneck Island's Relay for Life team held its very first Bark for Life event Sunday afternoon along the Sakonnet Greenway, the longest trail on Aquidneck Island. "We thought it would be a great way to bring awareness to the cause," said Kerry Seibert, a member of the Aquidneck Island Relay for Life team. More than 40 participants, along with man's best friends, attended the event to raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS). The event featured a dog walk, a contest for best dog tricks, raffles and photos with man's best friend. Coincidentally, a college Frisbee competition was held a few fields away, but did not distract the dogs as they barked for a cure. Bark for Life, a …
