Town Clerk's Office

Town Clerk's office is the repository of all land evidence and probate records for the town. Town Clerk is the ex-officio head of the department of public records and serves as the recorder of deeds, registrar of births, marriages and deaths; clerk of the Probate Court and clerk of the Town Council. The office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state holidays. The office is located at 2200 East Main Rd. Town Administrator

Town Administrator is responsible for the conduct and performance of all administrative functions and services which are not imposed by the charter upon some other officer. The Town Council appoints the town administrator who serves as the head of the administrative branch of government. The administrator's office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Town Planner

Town Planner is responsible for focusing the town's government on long-term projects such as land use regulations whose benefits accumulate over the years, major physical projects that will benefit residents for decades, environmental protection, or economic development to provide jobs and balance the tax base. Zoning Enforcement Officer/Assistant Planner

Zoning Enforcement Officer/Assistant Town Planner is responsible for the enforcement of local land use ordinances, particularly zoning, and also other applicable state and local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the use and enjoyment of property. The planner also performs a wide range of local government planning activities. The office is located at 2200 East Main Rd. The office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Highway/Public Works Department

Finance/Personnel Department

Finance/Personnel Department is responsible for providing accurate, comprehensive and timely financial accounting and budgetary information; developing and monitoring financial policies and procedures; administering procedures for personnel, payroll and human resources in a consistent, current and equitable manner; and providing astute management for cash, investments, debt, risk, purchasing and pension plan. Emergency Management Department

Building Inspection Department

Building Inspection Department is the depository of crucial data on building and mechanical construction, DEM and CRMC permit history, engineering data, zoning and subdivision history, and similar data. Business Development

Director of Business Development assists in implementing policies set forth by the town council to encourage business growth and retention. The director serves as the town's contact and administrator for the Enterprise Zone Program. The office is located at 2200 East Main Rd. Glen Park Working Committee meets on the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Planning Board Room, Town Hall, 2200 East Main Rd.

Economic Development Committee

Economic Development Committee advises the town council on matters related to economy. It also discusses and makes recommendations to the town officials and staff on matters involving development of the community and viability within the Town of Portsmouth.
