love the clam cakes and fried clams!

Use to eagerly await the opening each summer only to be disappointed by the decline of the food. I don't get my clamcakes there anymore. Try Rusty's on Wave Avenue in Middletown, behind the other Flo's....where I stopped in for a cold one after the long lines at the "popular clam shack" detered me. I saw they also had clamcakes on their menu and decided to give them a try. Much better than I imagined! Try the Portuguese Clamcakes if they have them...(little bits of chourico & hot peppers, clams) YUM!

Don't waste your money on the fried clams. Hardly any batter on them and soggy!

I've been here with my kids once or twice and both times I thought it seemed expensive for four people to eat. My husband was bummed that the clam chowder was very blah and I thought it was just too watery. But the clamcakes are great and its nice having a little picnic on the benches.
