Good Old Fashioned Time Comes to Portsmouth

Check out this great Portsmouth event happening this weekend.

A good, old fashioned time will come to Portsmouth this weekend!

The Portsmouth Historical Society will host its Harvest Social: An Old Fashioned Good Time this Saturday at noon at the historical society, located on the corner of Union Street and East Main Road.

There will be games, prizes, and activities for young and old. There may even be “guest appearances” from characters from Portsmouth’s past.

An old fashioned sing-a-long starts at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Baked goods will be for sale.

The Harvest Social is the historical society's main fundraising event.

This year's auction

The featured item for this year's auction is a watercolor of the Prescott Farm windmill. You can also bid on a framed silver gelatin, black and white photograph of Blue Bill Cove (taken from the Hummocks) and matted black and white prints of Glen Farm in the snow.

Antiques, such as a vintage doll trunk, will also be included in the silent auction.

Gift baskets include a “Read to Me” bag of children’s picture books, a genealogy kit and many more.

Admission to this Harvest Social is free, but donations are accepted!
