UPDATE: 'Magic' Johnson, Adam Sandler Visit Aquidneck Island

If you're looking to spot a Hollywood celebrity this summer, this weekend might just be your best bet on Aquidneck Island.

Happy Gilmore, also known as the very funny Adam Sandler, is apparently wrapping up filming on the movie "Grown Ups 2, according to Newport Buzz's Facebook page. 

Filming took place in nearby Massachusetts, according to Newport Buzz, not in Newport as previously reported. 

The cast — which includes David Spade, Shaquille O'Neal, Steve Buscemi, Chris Rock, Sandler, Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner, Salma Hayek, Kevin James, Maya Rudolph and others — might be staying in Newport this weekend. 

Portsmouth 

If you're a NBA fan, you might want to head to Portsmouth. 

Earvin “Magic” Johnson, the famous former Laker, will be in town Tuesday to serve as master of ceremonies for the 2012 Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic. 

In his efforts to support deserving organizations, Jeffrey Osborne invited some of the most successful names in the entertainment and sports worlds for this inaugural event.

In addition to Johnson, celebrities invited include Smokey Robinson, Peabo Bryson, The O’Jays, Doc Rivers, Kevin Frazier (from "Entertament Tonight"), Cheech Marin (from "Cheech & Chong"), Joe Morgan, Claudia Jordan, Johnny Gill ("New Edition"), Ernie DiGregorio, Michaela Johnson, Andre Tippet, Ed Cooley, Sugar Ray Leonard and more. 

The 2012 Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic will be held at . 

An opening night welcome reception, MC’d by Johnson, was held Monday. The Celebrity-Amateur Golf Outing starts today at 12:30 p.m. and concludes with a dinner tonight at 7.
