Portsmouth Little League Wins State Championship

The Portsmouth Little League 9 to 10-year-old All Star team win the state championship.

The Portsmouth Little League 9 to 10-year-old All Star team won the state championship on Sunday, July 28.  

The team beat Cranston West 9 to 10-year-old All Star team in a final score of 7-6 at Warwick Continental Field in Warwick.  

Portsmouth previously won the Rhode Island District 2 title on July 14 by beating Middletown's 9 to 10-year-old All Star team, 7-6.

Portsmouth is now in the North East/Mid Atlantic Regional 9 to 10-year-old All Star Championship, which starts this Saturday, Aug. 3, and ends with the championship game next Saturday, Aug. 10.

Teams competing in the regionals will hail from the following states: Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York and New Jersey.
