Portsmouth Teachers Settle New Contract Deal

The Portsmouth teachers' union recently approved a new three-year contract.

The Portsmouth School Committee is expected to approve a new, three-year contract for Portsmouth teachers at its meeting Tuesday night, reports The Portsmouth Times

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

The new contract gives teachers more authority over evaluation and increases the sharing costs of health insurance, according to The Portsmouth Times. The new contract also increases class sizes; however, the amount of the class size increase is unknown at this time.
