Portsmouth School District Science Scores Drop 7 Percent

Portsmouth school district's New England Common Assessment Program show a significant decrease in the field of science.

Portsmouth School District's science scores showed a significant decrease in the latest report of the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP), according to The Portsmouth Times

Portsmouth's overall science scores showed a 7.7 percent decrease from scores calculated in 2012, according to report. 

However, about 51 percent of the students proved to be proficient, which is still higher than the state average of 34 percent.

The spring NECAP was given earlier this year in May to students in grades 4, 8 and 11.
