Hurricane Carol Presentation at Portsmouth Free Public Library

Hurricane Carol Presentation at Portsmouth Free Public Library

Join us at Portsmouth Free Public Library on Tuesday, August 28 at 6:30 PM for a presentation of The Last Fling by John B. (Red) Cummings.  The Last Fling is a fascinating tale of a life-altering event of courage, terror and survival.  The author's presentation will include first hand stories from more than 60 individuals and families and what they experienced as their homes and town were torn apart during Hurricane Carol in 1954.  The author was
born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1945 and his family first rented a home in Westport Harbor where they spent the first couple of hours of Hurricane Carol on August 31, 1954. The book and DVD will be available for purchase and
signing.

This program is free and open to the public but seating is
limited.  Please stop by or call the Library at 683-9457 to reserve your seat.
