Club Announces Golf Ball Drop Winners

Who won Friday's golf ball drop? Find out below!

The Portsmouth Gridiron Club held its second annual drop fundraiser before the first varsity football game on Friday.

A helicopter from Bird’s Eye View Helicopters hovored over the Portsmouth High School football field and dropped 1,500 numbered golf balls representing $10 ticket holders. 

The ticket holder, who purchased the ball landing closest to the pin in the ground, won $1,000. Additional prizes were also awarded for second, third and fouth place winners.

Winners of the golf ball drop are: 

  1. Connor Sieben, who won $1,000
  2. Taylor Brown, $500
  3. James Coll, $250 (who is donating winnings back to high school)
  4. Andre Khalfayan, $100 (donating winnings back to high school)
  5. Abel Fernandez, $100
  6. Chase Moniz, $100 (donating winnings back to school) 
  7. Emma Thomas, $100
  8. Ken O'Brien, $100
  9. Ken O'Brien, $100
  10. Jeff Michard, $100

The majority of the proceeds from the helicopter golf ball drop will be used to help pay for a . The remaining money will be used to purchase equipment and provide scholarship money for the Portsmouth High School football program.
