Snow Budget Update Expected at Monday's Town Council Meeting

The Portsmouth Town Council will meet on Monday and on the docket is an expected report from the Town Manager on the snow budget, the new town Web site and the latest from the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns' annual conference.

Also on the agenda is a new victualing license for Beluga Frozen Yogurt, among other items.

The council, sitting as the Board of License Commissioners, will hear a request from JDDS Enterprises, Inc., doing business as Beluga Frozen Yogurt, for a victualing license to do business at 2005 East Main Road.

Also on the agenda is some old business: a discussion to moving to paperless Town Council meetings — something more and more communities are adopting — and a review of a Charter for Joint Task Force on Efficiency in Town Operations, the agenda states.

There is some new business - Council Member Hamilton put on the agenda a request for consideration for capital funding for development of sports fields on the Triple S property and Council Member Hefland has a request to amend a resolution relating to tax exemptions for income-eligible senior citizens.
