Senior Center, Cooling Center Loses Electrical Power

The Portsmouth Senior Center lost electrical power Monday morning.

National Grid crews were called to the Monday morning after a blown fuse caused the center to lose electrical power.

The senior center on Bristol Ferry Road lost electricity around 9:30 a.m., according to employees on site. National Grid crews responded shortly after to repair the fuse.

"Crews are on site," said Charlotte McCormack, spokesperson for National Grid. "Power should be restored around noon."

The senior center is the town's designated cooling site. Temperatures were expected to reach a high of 78 degrees today.
