Briggs' Family Farm To Be Auctioned at Tuesday's Tax Sale

The town of Portsmouth will hold its property tax auction on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Town Hall.

Those looking to acquire a property at a low rate might want to check out the town's Collector's Sale on Tuesday at Town Hall. 

The tax assessor/collector will auction off properties at a tax sale, starting at 11 a.m. in the council chamber.

The highest bidder on a property will be responsible for paying off overdue taxes and various fees. The previous owner will be give one-year to pay off the taxes before the property is transferred to the new owner.

Residents are asked to contact the town clerk's office for more information about each property. Only cash or bank checks will be accepted at the auction.

Among those properties listed for auction is , which was expected to be purchased last year.

Well-known developer and former state Rep. Vincent Mesolella sought to purchase this land and from light industrial to commercial. However, the council voted against this zoning change request.
