Planned Parenthood Endorses Finn

The following release was provided by candidate Linda Finn.

The Rhode Island chapter of Planned Parenthood has officially endorsed Democratic candidate, Linda Finn, in the Rhode Island House District 72 race.

“As a woman and mother, I am honored to receive the endorsement of Planned Parenthood,” said Linda Finn. “The services Planned Parenthood provides to women, such as lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of STIs, mammograms, and more are critical to the well-being of every woman in our state.”

“We are grateful that Linda is running and that she is a strong advocate of women’s health issues,” said Paula Hodges, Director of Public Policy and Advocacy of Planned Parenthood Votes! Rhode Island.

“Unlike my opponent, who is a before undergoing an abortion, I believe that government and politicians need to stay out of the way and respect the privacy of women and their families while they face these very personal and difficult decisions.” continued Finn. “I intend to support family planning programs to help Rhode Island families get access to the preventative healthcare they need and that includes ensuring women have access to birth control.”

Linda Finn is running for Rhode Island House District 72, which includes the communities of Middletown, Portsmouth and Newport.

Of course they did , $$$$ in their pocket .

Linda, You describe yourself as a progressive, socially liberal democrat. The East Bay Engery Consortium plans for publicly financed wind turbines. How would you vote up or down for a semi-quasi state agency with its own private laws? Those laws include issuing bonds. The first bond issue would be 60 million for a small wind farm.

Sounds like Rep. Reilly is all done to me :)

Looks like the shills in planned parenthood like "really concerned citizen" didn't do their homework when recruiting a PP fanatic like Dill Finn to be their candidate. Good luck selling your pro-death agenda in that district. Did you notice the major dem parts like Newport were cut out this year? Good luck electing a self-proclaimed "progressive liberal democrat" there! The citizens are more concerned with the obscene amount of damage that the other "progressive liberal democrats" have done to the state to worry about your nonsense.

Good luck to Ms. Finn. We need to send the Ultrasound Clown back to grammar school. Or maybe Rick Santorum needs a lapdog.

Yeah, you clowns are soooo safe for women. What'd this poor lady have, a 2-for1 coupon? Peddle your death somewhere else losers. http://www.suntimes.com/news/13927970-418/woman-dies-after-abortion-at-planned-parenthood-clinic.html

Conservatives, if you are so against government intruding on your lives and telling you how to live it, why do you want the government to make abortion illegal so badly? It seems a bit hypocritical to say that the government having it's hand in your pockets and in your healthcare is un-American and will not be tolerated anymore, but the government having it's hand in a woman's uterus is perfectly acceptable? If government is so bad at running everything else then why the hell should they be able to tell people what to do with their own bodies.

Sorry, Aquidneck voter, I didn't recruit anyone, just stating a fact, I think we've all had enough of " Boy Wonder " and his irresponsible parents. He's just not old enough, mature enough or the correct sex to be in a position to be deciding policy of that nature. I love the right wing guys, " we will protect you until you are born, and then you're on your own ", lol.

Buddy, your partisan attitude aside, good luck. The vast majority of this district doesn't care for a one-trick pony like Dill Finn or her only issue. Go ahead, blame the guy for his parents' problems. When I see dill Finn explain what her husband does (funny its strange she left that out. Maybe b/c he is involved in finance? Go 1%!) & their parents do along with their histories I suppose that might be relevant. The sad thing is you jokers are motivated solely by Reilly's support of a bill introduced by a woman who, oh that's right, is a democrat! Have fun! I'm sure the actual voters of dist 72 will have a good laugh at you clowns come November.

I'm a conservative, and pro choice . The Rep was asked to put in the Bill and he did. That's his job. The bill died in committee. Stop acting like it would have passed. Stop insulting Conservatives. I don't want my tax dollars paying for this organization or many others who rely on the tax payers.
BILL KELLY July 25, 2012 at 12:23 PM
Why would anyone want to have an invasive procedure such as a pregnancy termination without an ultrasound? I cannot get a tooth filled without an X-RAY! Last Friday a young girl died during a botched procedure because of the position of the baby they were trying to abort was unknown and it had traveled outside of the uterus (ectopic). The young girl bled to death. PP does not want ultrasounds because it causes the mother to want to see the results and many then do not choose to proceed. Medically, it would be part of any responsible practitioner's procedure be it not for the political outcome.
Portsman July 25, 2012 at 02:12 PM
Let's send boy wonder anti-choice Reilly back to grammar school. Go Linda Finn!
J. Lane McMahon July 25, 2012 at 03:02 PM
Mr. Kelly, Did you actually read that bill that Rep. Reilly sponsored? It was not about safe medical procedures, it was about a woman having to undergo a procedure specifically to try an "shame" and or "guilt" her into changing her mind. So many of you post on other topics claiming you want smaller government. Keep government out of business, religion, etc. How about we keep government out from between a woman's legs? No man has any right to tell a woman what she should or should not due with her body. Especially a man of Rep. Reilly's age.

Young woman dies along with baby. New documents a local CBS television station obtained in the case of a young African-American woman killed in a fatal botched legal abortion show Planned Parenthood waited over five hours before sending the woman to a local hospital for emergency care. Steve Miller of the CBS news affiliate WBBM has released a new report showing documents released in the botched abortion death of Tonya Reaves that alarmingly shows Planned Parenthood delayed summoning emergency care for the dying woman for five and a half hours after the abortion failed. At 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Reaves received a second-trimester dilation and evacuation..

Bill people die from complications from all kinds of surgery it has nothing to do with abortion. Jenny Olenick, a 17-year-old junior at Marriotts Ridge High School in Woodstock, Md., died in April from complications during wisdom tooth surgery Another teen, 14-year-old Ben Ellis of Gilmer County, Ga., was found dead in his bed Dec. 8 after undergoing wisdom tooth surgery the day before. Why are you not pushing to ban this procedure as hard as you push to end abortion. This has nothing to do with saving lives it has to do with your wanting the government to force your religious views on others. if you are really concerned with young woman dying you would fight to keep abortion legal far more woman died from back ally abortions before Row vs Wade then die from complications from sergery now. I would be more worried about all the young lives ruined when the were molested by their parish priest.
