Court Agrees To Deny Weddings At Portsmouth Vineyard

A Superior Court judge has agreed to not allow weddings at one vineyard due to the town's zoning code.

If you planned on toasting your newly-made nuptials at one Portsmouth vineyard, you should start searching for a new venue.

A Newport Superior Court judge recently ruled in favor of the local zoning board's decision, reports The Sakonnet Times. The judge agreed with the zoning board to not allow Greenvale Vineyards permission to host weddings and other ceremonies on the Portsmouth property.

The Portsmouth Zoning Board previously ruled the request to host weddings was not one of the allowed uses under the town's "special use permit."
