Residents Urged To Lock Doors As Car Thefts Continue

Another car was stolen overnight Wednesday in Portsmouth.

Police are urging Portsmouth residents to look their car doors after another vehicle was stolen in town overnight Wednesday. 

This vehicle, the sixth vehicle to be stolen in town since Sept. 14, was taken from McIntosh Drive. 

The other five vehicles were reported stolen from Quail Road, Ash Street, Galley Lane, Stage Coach Road and Harbor View Road. The stolen vehicles were all unlocked at the time with the keys left inside the vehicle.

Police are now urging residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave their keys inside their vehicle. Residents should also not leave any valuables inside their cars. 

Anyone with any information on these vehicle thefts, or those who witness suspicious activity, are asked to immediately contact the Portsmouth police at (401) 683-0300.
