Residents Urged To Lock Doors As Car Thefts Continue

Another car was stolen overnight Wednesday in Portsmouth.

Police are urging Portsmouth residents to look their car doors after another vehicle was stolen in town overnight Wednesday.

This vehicle, the sixth vehicle to be stolen in town since Sept. 14, was taken from McIntosh Drive.

The other five vehicles were reported stolen from Quail Road, Ash Street, Galley Lane, Stage Coach Road and Harbor View Road. The stolen vehicles were all unlocked at the time with the keys left inside the vehicle.

Police are now urging residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave their keys inside their vehicle. Residents should also not leave any valuables inside their cars.

Leave it to the cops to take all the fun out of watching some fool walk outside to go to wherever in the morning and wonders where his car got off too. Then watching bystanders laughing when the fool tells the officers that he left the car unlocked and oh yeah, I left the keys inside. When the laughing dies down the then says, nobody ever stole my car before! Now the poor cop cannot hold it in and starts laughing out loud and the fool gets mad about the way the cop is embarrasing him or maybe even her! Please...give us a break.
