Rescue Responds to Rollover Crash on Sakonnet River Bridge

Tiverton Rescue personnel responded to a rollover crash on the Sakonnet River Bridge after 9 p.m. Monday.

A red station wagon with a smashed windshield was towed off the Sakonnet River Bridge Monday night after a rollover crash on the Tiverton side. 

Tiverton Rescue personnel and police responded to the crash after 9 p.m. The crash, reported to be a rollover by eyewitnesses, occurred on Route 24 North just after the Route 138 exit to Tiverton. 

Further details about the crash are unknown at this time. Messages were left with the Tiverton Police Department. 

Both lanes of Route 24 North on the Sakonnet River Bridge's Tiverton side were closed as of 9:15 p.m. as crews towed away the vehicle.
