Portsmouth Police Log: Extreme Nic Fit

The following is based on reports from the Portsmouth Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Amanda Myers, 19, of 144 Anthony Road, in the Roger Williams University dorms, was charged with tampering with vehicles and vandalism, after allegedly breaking into a parked car to smoke a cigarette.

The owner of a car on Walnut Street reported on Aug. 27 just after 1 a.m. that someone had broken into the car. Inside was found a woman's shirt, shoes and purse, some blood on the dash board, and a cigarette burn hole in the upholstery. Inside the purse, officers found Myers' identification.

Myers had reportedly attended a party on Walnut Street that night, heading outside at some point to have a smoke. It was raining, so she ducked into the parked car to avoid getting wet, she reportedly admitted to police. Myers reportedly had a small cut on her knee, consistent with the blood on the dash board.
The car's owner also reported a GPS device was missing from the car. Police are continuing to investigate.

Moving Target

Arron Cagle, 25, of Middletown, was charged with disorderly conduct on Aug. 25 after officers reportedly watched him leaning over the back seat of a car hitting the front seat passenger while the car was traveling down West Main Road. The victim declined to press charges for assault, so officers proceeded with the disorderly charge.

Drunk and Disorderly

Cameron Taylor, 22, of Dexter St., Portsmouth, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct after he allegedly smashed a TV in his home during a drunken rage. Officers arrived to find Taylor with blood on his face and vomit on his shirt. He was processed at the police station after a trip to Newport Hospital.
