Portsmouth Firefighters To Show Off Equipment This Weekend

The Portsmouth Fire Department will open its doors this Sunday for an annual open house, which will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the fire station.

Families and friends will be able to tour the fire station, view equipment, check out three ambulances and two boats, as well as fire trucks.

Firefighters will answer questions about the day-today operations of the department and responses. Fire prevention education will be available.

Kids will be provided with fire safety coloring books. Visitors can take a tour of the Town’s Emergency Operations Center, located upstairs in the station.

The town of Portsmouth’s EMA Director will be on hand to answer questions about the EOC and how it functions during a large-scale emergency such as a hurricane.

Children can look through the trucks and have an opportunity to use a real fire hose.

Refreshments will be available. The open house is free and open to the public.
