Police Log: Woman Allegedly Steals $20 Worth of Sushi

The following arrest information was supplied by the Portsmouth Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Woman allegedly attempts to roll away with unpaid sushi 

A 33-year-old Portsmouth woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly placing $20 worth of stolen sushi in her purse. Crystal Small, with an address given of Rogers Lane, Middletown, was stopped by employees as she attempted to leave the store around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. Employees apparently noticed Small place $20 worth of sushi in her purse and attempt to leave without paying. The items were reportedly two packets, containing a Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll. Small was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. 

Man allegedly uses lamp, flashlight as weapons

Thomas Butz, 37, of 9 Birchwood Drive, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 10:30 p.m. after becoming involved in an argument with a 31-year-old Portsmouth female. During the argument, he allegedly threw a lamp across the room. Police say Butz then used a Maglight flashlight to attempt to knock items out of her hands. Butz was arrested and charged with domestic, disorderly conduct, and domestic, simple assault. 

When one honk doesn't work, honk, honk again? 

A 52-year-old Portsmouth man was arrested Monday after he allegedly drove not once, but twice onto a woman's front yard and continually honked the vehicle's horn. Kenneth Joaquin of 26 Foxboro Ave. apparently became involved in an argument with a 29-year-old Portsmouth woman over the phone on Jan. 28 at 3 a.m. After the phone call, Joaquin allegedly drove his vehicle to the woman's house. He allegedly drove onto the front lawn and beeped the vehicle's horn. He then left, but not for long. He returned a short time later, police say, and drove back up on her lawn and honked the horn several times again. He was later arrested and charged with domestic, disorderly conduct.

It most likely was his daughter.. He has a history of family assault/drug possession but he'll still get off once again with a slap on the wrist from the judicial system, for some reason he always does. We are sick of having this element in Portsmouth.

I can't believe a moron would steal $20 worth of Sushi and get caught. Now she is going to have to dole out hundreds of dollars, if not more on legal fees and fines. I think the word "Bonehead" comes to mind on this one.

maybe this nut was the get-away driver for the sushi thief and was hungrey.

That is the WORST sushi in the world. She should be thrown in jail for such poor taste.
