Police Log: Two DUIs, Domestic, Warrant

The following arrest and incident reports were provided by the Portsmouth Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

DOMESTIC
Police charged John Leonard Belmore, 52, of 231 Jepson Lane, Portsmouth, with domestic simple assault May 27 at 12:06 a.m.

Police said Belmore was involved in a domestic incident and grabbed another person during an argument. 

WARRANT
Police charged James Ross Danenberg, 32, of 47 Hargraves Drive, Portsmouth, with a warrant May 26 at 4:14 p.m.

Police said they responded to Danenberg’s address in an attempt to serve an active Second Division District Court bench warrant.

DUIs
Police charged Wayne Joseph Morse, 48, of 48 Founders Ave., Portsmouth, with driving under the influence May 25 at 10:25 p.m.

Police said Morse was stopped on East Main Road in the area of Potomoc Road after an officer was dispatched for a report of an erratic operator and saw him cross the double yellow lines.

Police said Morse told police he “had a few too many” and failed a field sobriety test.

He also refused a chemical test once in custody at police headquarters

Morse was arraigned and released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

Police charged Angelo Nicholas Gutierrez, 26, of 214 Russel Drive, Tiverton, with driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test May 24 at 2:01 a.m.

Police said Gutierrez was stopped on West Main Road after an officer clocked him driving 54 mph in a posted 35 mph zone.

Police said Gutierrez appeared drunk and later failed a field sobriety test.

He later refused a chemical test and was released later in the morning on $1,000 personal recognizance.
