Police Log: Man's 7 Years of Bad Luck Starts With Arrest

The following is based on reports from the Portsmouth Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Portsmouth police made the following arrests this week. 

Man allegedly punches mirror

Christopher Bromley, 36, of Mendon, MA, was arrested on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. at the police station after turning himself in.

Bromley allegedly became involved in an argument with a 42-year-old Portsmouth woman at 7:20 a.m. that morning on Riverside Street. During the argument, Bromley allegedly made threats against the woman and punched a mirror. 

He was charged with domestic, simple assault, and domestic, vandalism.

Man arrested after making unscheduled morning visit 

A Portsmouth man was arrested after making an unscheduled visit to a Portsmouth home at 4 a.m. 

Jason Vigeant, 37, of 2749 East Main Road, was arrested on Dec. 11 at 4 a.m. after police were called to a Water Street property. Police say a vehicle, operated by Vigeant, was parked halfway on the grass and halfway in the driveway. 

Vigeant allegedly banged on the front door. He apparently knew the homeowners, but they did not expect him to visit at 4 a.m. 

Police say they detected an aroma of alcohol. Vigeant failed a field sobriety test and, after being transported to the police station, allegedly refused a chemical test. 

He was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), refusal to submit to a chemical test and disorderly conduct. 

MA man arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana 

Joseph Emory, 24, of Somerset, MA, was arrested on Dec. 8 at 2:30 a.m. for allegedly possessing marijuana. 

A vehicle operated by Emory was stopped for speeding on West Main Road near Turkey Hill. Emory was first arrested for driving on a suspended license. Police later found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. 

Newport man arrested on warrant

Adrian Andino, 19, of Newport, was arrested on Dec. 8 at 12:30 a.m. after a motor vehicle stop on West Main Road at Raytheon. Andino was a passenger in the vehicle. 

A check revealed Andino was wanted on a Second District Court bench warrant for failure to appear at pre-trial. He was arrested at the scene.
