Newport woman allegedly sends harassing text messages
Tiffany Johnson, 20, of Newport, was arrested on Aug. 3 at 1:15 p.m. after turning herself in at the Portsmouth police station.

Johnson was wanted for allegedly sending threatening text messages to a 19-year-old Portsmouth woman on July 31. Johnson was charged with domestic, sending harassing or threatening text messages.
Fall River man allegedly leaves 2 crash scenes

A Fall River, MA, man is accused of leaving not one, but two motor vehicle crashes on the same day.
Tyler Nadeau, 21, of Fall River, was arrested on Aug. 4 at 11:30 a.m. by Middletown police after allegedly leaving the scene of two accidents in both Portsmouth and Middletown.
Police first received a report of a minor motor vehicle crash on West Main Road at Mill Lane in Portsmouth. The vehicle, operated by Nadeau, left the scene until becoming involved in a second crash on Olphiant Lane in Middletown.
The vehicle also left this scene before being stopped by Middletown police. Nadeau is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident in both towns.
Bristol man charged with DUI
Jesse Dearden, 37, of Bristol, was arrested on Aug. 4 at 10 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Police were called to a motor vehicle crash on Boyd's Lane near the Mount Hope Bridge. A vehicle, operated by Dearden, rear-ended a vehicle at the traffic light.
Dearden apparently failed a field sobriety test and, after being transported to police headquarters, allegedly refused a chemical test.
Providence man allegedly violates no-contact order
Eric Moreira, 34, of Providence, was arrested on Aug. 5 after allegedly violating a no-contact order.
Police first received a phone call from Moreira, who asked officer to check the well-being of a 29-year-old Portsmouth woman.
After police checked on the woman, officers learned Moreira was at the woman's apartment earlier that day, violating a no-contact order in place. He was arrested and charged with violating the court order.
