Police ID Victim of Fatal Car Crash
An 80-year-old Portsmouth woman died Wednesday after a single car crash on Bristol Ferry Road.
An elderly woman died Wednesday afternoon after a single car crash on Bristol Ferry Road.
Police identified the victim Thursday as Ann Domingoes, 80, of Portsmouth.
Portsmouth police and rescue were called to Bristol Ferry Road near Newport Harbor Drive at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.
According to a preliminary investigation report, a 2009 Subaru Impreza, operated by Domingoes, was traveling north on Bristol Ferry Road when it crossed the double yellow lines in the area of Newport Harbor Drive.
The vehicle collided head-on with a telephone pole.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, Domingoes, was transported
to Newport Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation by the Portsmouth Police Department.
