Police Arrest 2 on Separate DUI Charges

The following is based on reports from the Portsmouth Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The Portsmouth police made the following arrests in the past few days. 

  • Tracy Perrino, 43, of 1042 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, was arrested on Sept. 17 at 10 p.m., and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Police received a report of an erratic vehicle operating on East Main Road. The vehicle was seen passing the police station and striking the curb at least four times on East Main Road. The vehicle was later stopped on Route 24 North near Boyd's Lane. The driver, Perrino, failed a field sobriety test and, after being transported to the police station, allegedly refused a chemical test. 
  • Wilfred Charette, 27, of 29 North Drive, Portsmouth, was arrested on Sept. 19, at midnight, and charged with DUI. A vehicle was seen operating erratically on West Main Road near Raytheon. The driver, Charette, allegedly failed a field test. The driver was brought to police headquarters and later transported to Newport Hospital for a blood test. The results are pending, according to police reports.
