Klimm Taps Boston Deputy Superintendent For Police Chief

Portsmouth Town Administrator John Klimm has selected former Boston Deputy Superintendent Thomas Lee as his candidate for police chief.

Portsmouth Town Administrator John Klimm's choice for police chief is Thomas Lee of Hanover, MA.

Lee, who served as deputy superintendent for the Boston Police Department, is credited with successfully taking over Boston's Special Operations Division after the pepper-pellet shooting death of a Red Sox fan in 2004. He later took over Boston's Homicide Division in 2007, according to Boston.com

Lee was also listed among Boston's top earners for 2012 in an article published in February. According to The Boston Globe, Lee earned more than $215,000 in 2012, including overtime.

Klimm will present Lee as a candidate before the Portsmouth Town Council at Monday's meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
