Who shut the government down?

Who shut the government down?

The Constitution gives the power of the purse to the House of Representatives and limits them to terms of two years. This is done to keep them as close to their constituents as possible. The intent was for "We The People" to control our representatives and for them to obey our will, not be ruled by them.

Polls show a majority (61% to 80 %) do not want socialism or Obamacare in our country. The House is simply doing it's job of representing their constituents by refusing to fund Obamacare. They have put forth legislation to fund every other part of the government, including many parts they disagree with, but the democrats and the president refuse to bend to the will of the people.

The democrats and the president have shut the government down by refusing to fund all of it unless they get their way with Obamacare funding. The country was not designed to facilitate their will, but rather the will of the people.

Let us not forget that Obamacare was forced down Americas throat through chicanery, bribes and threats without even ONE republican vote, using the reconciliation rule in violation of the Constitution, as well as an illegal rewriting and redefinition by Justice Roberts to make it fly. He did make it legal, after a fashion, but he did not make a morally correct decision. It appears that the president and the democrats want a dictatorship rather than rule of law under the Constitution.

"An elective despotism was not the government we fought for; but one in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among the several bodies of magistracy as that no one could transend their legal limits without being effectually checked and restrained by the others." James Madison, Federalist Papers No. 48
