Obituary: Rosa Lucille Silvia, 95, Dairy Farmer

Rosa Lucille Silvia of Portsmouth, formerly of Middletown, passed away on June 6, 2014 at Newport Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Eva Bariteau of New Bedford, MA.
Born in New Bedford on May 10, 1919, she was the wife of the late Manuel M. Silvia. Lucille spent her married life on the family dairy farm in Middletown where she had many happy memories. As a senior, she took up painting and became an avid artist. She looked forward to her Tuesday morning art classes at the Portsmouth Senior Center. She also enjoyed travelling and took many bus trips. Lucille also loved shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara A. Pine of Portsmouth, her son Manuel J. Silvia, also of Portsmouth, and three grandchildren, Wayne Pine of Portsmouth, Kim Levesque of Cranston, and Danielle Kaish of Bristol, as well as 4 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son George, four brothers, Albee, Oliver, Edgar and Peter Bariteau, and two sisters, Anita Buchanan and Edna Field, as well as her son in law Francis Pine and daughter in law Denise Silvia.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 10, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 11 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway, Newport.
