Betty Jean Monte, 81, of Portsmouth, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital Fall River, MA.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Monte and the former wife of the late Albert LaFlamme.
Born in Fall River, MA on November 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Claire (Sharples) Marsh.
While living in Bay Palm, Florida, she worked as a bus attendant, she moved back to Portsmouth in 1997. Mrs. Monte also worked as a Trimmer and Folder for the Jodi Sue Co. in Fall River.
She is survived by her daughters Deborah Jean LaFlamme and her fiancé Bruce Boissonne of Fall River, MA, and Marsha Claire Sheldon and her husband Tony of Portsmouth. She also leaves three grandchildren Jason Charron of Fall River, Tiffany Palmer of Middletown, Lee-Ann Charron of Mansfield as well as two great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Betty leaves two sisters Arlene Tavares of Portsmouth and Carol Forrest of Maine.
She was the mother of the late Albert (Chuck) LaFlamme and sister of the late Charles F. Marsh and Lucille (Marilyn) Lima.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
Calling hours will be held in the funeral home Friday evening from 4:00 - 7:00pm.
Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
