Former Patients Remember Beloved Doctor

After a battle with cancer, Dr. Douglas G. Wilson, 63, of Newport, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, surrounded by his family. Dr. Wilson served Aquidneck Island for over 30 years, caring for countless numbers of women and their families and providing access to healthcare for those less fortunate. 

Wilson grew up in Michigan and achieved his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1976. Upon completing his residency at the University of Rochester he moved to Newport to begin his career as an OB/GYN.
