Portsmouth High School Band Shows Spirit at Parade

PHS Homecoming

The rain held off this weekend for the Portsmouth High School Marching Band parade.

The PHS Patriots football team played against South Kingston at 1:30 and the crowning of the king and queen takes place at halftime. The Homecoming Dance was held later at the high school.

What an awesome event!! My family took in the festivities on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed ALL aspects of the homecoming celebration: the parade, the football action, the halftime show, the announcement of the homecoming king and queen and court , the state champion cheerleaders and more great football. The Marching Band is a HUGE part of the reason why PHS football games are so much fun and upbeat!! I just learned yesterday that The PHS Marching Band has the largest drumline of any high school in the state of R.I.! If you are looking for some local, inexpensive entertainment on a Friday evening, come enjoy a PHS football game, you are bound to see your friends and neighbors there too...

Such an honor that high school students take an interest in community activity. Good for them. Great photos of the marching band! - Diane
