Portsmouth Abbey School Welcomes Special Olympic Athletes

A total of 72 Abbey students volunteered to help with this event.

welcomed North Kingstown Special Olympics to campus for the seventh consecutive year on May 6, and 72 students volunteered to help with the event. Students were paired with Special Olympics athletes, timed events, raked long jump sand, cheered for the athletes and even participated in several of the events.

More than 40 athletes in four age groups (8-11, 12-16, 18-29, and over 30) competed in running events, shotput, softball throw, turbojav, long jump and relays.
