AUGUST EVENTS

August 8: Movie on the Lawn - Running Wild, Presented by Newport Film

6:45 PM (Gates open), Film begins at dusk (around 8pm), Newport International Polo Grounds

Free film screening at the Newport International Polo grounds featuring the award winning film Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. Hyde, a cowboy who triumphs in his quest to protect wild horses and the American West, presented by NewportFilm. Musician Steve Poltz, creator of the film’s original soundtrack will perform a 1-hour concert beforehand, and we welcome film maker Suzanne Mitchell for Q&A following the free screening on the lawn for the community to enjoy, as one of our unique events celebrating the 375th anniversary of the founding of the Town of Portsmouth.   Blankets and picnics are encouraged. Refreshments will be available.

August 31: The 375th Anniversary Grand Parade
10:00am, Begins and ends at Portsmouth High School
Join us for an exciting 375th Anniversary Parade! The parade will begin and end at Portsmouth High School, pass the Portsmouth Public Library and at the bank  there to come up Turnpike Ave to return to the high school.

August 31st: Polo Match - US vs. England
