Town Council to Consider Arts and Culture Committee Tonight

Arts and Culture Committee Proposal on Use of Coggeshall School on Town Council Agenda

The following is from an email of the Portsmouth Arts and Culture Committee:

On Monday evening, March 11, the Portsmouth Town Council will consider a recommendation from the Portsmouth Arts and Culture Committee that the town-owned Coggeshall School site be designated for development as a community center for the arts.  We believe this recommendation has significant benefits for all the residents of Portsmouth and nearby communities, from schoolchildren to young adults to seniors.

The Portsmouth Arts and Culture Committee has been considering such an arts center since the fall of 2008. Our final report, which the Town Council has received, is available online, together with a shorter prospectus that describes the plan. (We thank the Portsmouth Arts Guild for hosting these online materials.)
