Acting Fire Chief Mike Cranson is interviewed on Portsmouth this Week.

The weekly edition of Portsmouth this Week, "The Voice of the Portsmouth Town Hall" was taped today and featured interviews with acting Fire Chief, Mike Cranson, and Town Administrator, John Klimm. Highlights included discussions of the organization of the Portsmouth Fire Department and the professional qualifications and training needed by all Portsmouth Firefighters to do the job. Chief Cranson also discussed the issues of legal and illegal fireworks, the purpose and locations of the Fire Department's three boats (two of which were involved in responding to the Sandy Point Beach sail training incident a few days ago) and the activities of the two EMT emergency vehicles, among other topics. If you want to learn more about your Fire Department, you need to watch this show, which airs on Cox Channel 18 (Newport County Public access TV)Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM but is also available now from the link above or on links from the town website www.portsmouthri.com and PEDC website www.portsmouthriedc.com
