New Lifesaving Equipment Discussed on Portsmouth this Week
New State-of-the-art Defibrillators Now in Portsmouth to Save Lives
Jeff Richard hosted Portsmouth Firefighters, Lieutenant Steve Lynch and Andrew Jones, this week to discuss the latest emergency medical devices acquired by the Portsmouth Fire Department and how they are used. Two new $16,000 state-of-the-art defibrillators provide Portsmouth Firefighters and EMT personnel with an enhanced capability in emergency response situations. Lieutenant Lynch indicated that the Portsmouth Fire Department responds to over 3500 calls a year and that 2200 of these are EMT-related. The use and capabilities of the new equipment were addressed at some length on this program, which should be of considerable interest to Portsmouth's senior citizens, especially those with medical issues.
