Portsmouth Businesses Team Up for Holiday Shopping Campaign

The Portsmouth Business Association is asking residents to shop locally this holiday season.

The Portsmouth Business Association is encouraging people to shop locally this holiday season, not just on Small Business Saturday.

Money spent in locally owned businesses tends to stay in the area and circulate within the community.

“If every adult resident spends $100 of their holiday shopping budget at locally owned stores in Portsmouth, it could inject more than $1 million into our economy,” says Karen Toti, president of the Portsmouth Business Association.

Custom House co-owner Mark Libby says he decided to join the campaign due to a previous project with the business association.

"There has been a very positive response to our ads in the Portsmouth Business newsletter," Libby said. Below are just a few of the businesses taking part in the "buy local" campaign.
